Fishnet is gathering scripts to be considered for our 2013 – 2014 season. I know that seems like a long ways out, but it is necessary. Please email submissions to Brent Before July 1, 2012.

As a reminder, here’s a list of what we are looking for:

Evangelistic in nature – or a specific, powerful message for the church. (By the way, if it doesn’t have this – it’s a no starter)

Be very entertaining

Be capable of touring (Fishnet has taken many difficult sets on the road – so much is possible. Just don’t expect a scene where the actor is swimming in the ocean

5-12 actors (roles that may be male or female are a plus)

45-70 minutes in length

If you have submitted a script in the past, and it didn’t get selected, get some input on how to make it better and resubmit it! Many scripts go through more than one version. Don’t give up!

Synopsis:

“It’s my first case—I’m so excited! I’m Annie Imes, wife of the famous detective Johnny Imes. All those years following Johnny while he solved cases has totally prepared me for this case: “Prove the existence of God.” Now, I know people have been asking if God exists for years… um, decades… okay, pretty much since time began. But the answers have to be out there… somewhere… hmmm… maybe this could be a bit challenging. I think I’ll ask Johnny to tag along….”

Cast:

Annie Imes - 20s to 40s – Comes across as Johnny’s ditsy blonde secretary but is a good detective in her own right. She tends to ramble on and on. Her compassion for others is her most endearing trait.

Johnny Imes - 20s to 50s – A strong, quick-witted private eye who is not afraid to take on any case. It is the middle of the Great Depression and Johnny and Annie, who is also his wife, barely get by.

Lucy - 30s to 50s – Kind of a hard woman. She has had to run the diner by herself for many years now and she is very self-reliant.

Ginger - 20s to 30s – Was once one of mob boss Alvin Santago’s “girls,” but now, with Johnny’s help, she has testified against Alvin and found the peace that only Christ can bring. She is anxious to help others escape the life of crime.

Pastor White - 30s to 60s – An intelligent man who is well respected in the community. He has helped Johnny in many of his cases.

Tony - 20s to 30s – A young thug who is drunk with power and blind obedience to mob boss Alvin Santago. He is not the brightest of men.

Dr. Staininski - 30s to 60s – A very intelligent man which makes him a little eccentric. He is a little socially awkward and likes to laugh at his own jokes.

Professor Overby - 40s to 60s – A quiet, scholarly professor who has a love for knowledge . (S)He is an old friend of both Pastor White and Dr. Staininski.

Ages specified for characters are not strict requirements. If you don’t fit the age range for a particular character but are interested in the role, please contact us anyway.

The Kirkland Unit will rehearse March through May in Kirkland. It will perform June and July on weekends (with possible occasional weeknights), generally in the Eastside area.

For more information and to schedule an audition time, please call Lenore Leckvold at 425-232-4075 or email auditions@fishnettheatre.com.
